Hello to everybody! Some might recognize me as a member of the Finnish pc demogroup Doomsday. Yup, that's me.

First, let me tell you about a coincidence that atleast I find pretty funny.

It was about a week ago that Grendel/Byterapers(<--shameless namedropping), who lives on the same street as me, phoned and asked me to come have a cup of coffee with him and Purple Motion. Being a long time demoscener and mod/synthpop/laserdance -fan I ofcourse wanted to meet this guy behind some of my fave modules. I've seen Jonne at the Assembly parties before, but never really met him personally (maybe pm remembers the "Melk med Brunost - Wode on l?ski" -incident at asm94?)

I saw the musicdisk commercial at asm04, and already pre-ordered the CD some time ago, and of course hoped pm had some copies with him so I could get one early. Well, he didn't . We chatted about music, demoscene and stuff for a while, and Jonne told he had lived in the same city (Tampere) as us for almost a year. I was pretty surprised as I thought he still lives in Turku where his studio is.

Later that day when I got home, I started wondering where exactly in Tampere does pm live, because I forgot to ask that earlier, and wanted to know if I could hop on a bus or something and go get the cd when it's released without having to waste one day waiting for the mail to arrive. Got on irc and asked mikron(another byteraper) if he knew pm's street address. He didn't know it, but used a phone address service to get it. Hmm.. this street name sounded really familiar. It was the next street from mine! So Jonne has lived around the corner for a year about ~100 meters from my flat without me knowing anything about it. Talk about a small world!

On sunday I received the msg from Jonne that he already had the CD's at home, got outside and walked to his front door, rang the doorbell and purchased the CD. Some of you american fans living on the other side of the planet might consider this pretty cool

Been listening to the CD ever since. I ain't a musician so can't give really deep analysis, but here's my small review:

01 - In Certain Frequency (***+) Solid opener. The sudden pauses are a nice touch.
02 - Covering all the Bas(s)es (****+) Grooooovy! Absolutely my favourite of the non-remakes. Can't get this out of my head.
03 - Excerpts from the Oceanic Suite (****) Remembered this one from asm03 live concert. The melody rocks!
04 - Yesterdays like Tomorrows like Todays (***) Weird Beginning, but it picks up when the vocals start.
05 - Glass Bone (**+) Too slow/ambient for my taste but the melody is quite nice, reminds me of the 3rd tune.
06 - Starshine (*****) Ahh, this is why I wanted this record. My alltime favourite .s3m tune and a perfect remake.
07 - Bonus Malum (***) Techno song, does nothing really special for me.
08 - Looking into the Eyes of a Donkey (***) Good background music but didn't really catch my attention.
09 - ??? (****) Remake which hasn't been mentioned on the forum yet, so I'll leave the name out for now. Good.
10 - 2nd Reality OST (****+) You can't go wrong with 2nd Reality. IMO, the asm03 live version was more robust.
11 - The Wise and the Weak (***) Talk about a sudden change. Did I just insert an Enya CD? Angelic vocals.
12 - Planet Fuzz (**) My least favourite tune on this cd. However, Really OLDskool sceners should enjoy the chippy sounds.

Good album overall. Get it! Get it now!
